Seeing Double

As I was going through some stuff today, I came across my box of duplicate DCAU characters, and I realized I have more than I thought.

So I started pulling them out of the box and laying them out across a shelf. In addition to the two versions of Superman, Batman, and Martian Manhunter in my DCAU display (League versions and Justice Lords versions), I have two more Superman and Batman figures, and three more Martian Manhunters, not to mention three more versions of Amazo. Keep in mind, this doesn't even include the 30+ Justice League figures I've given away to kids, including three complete sets of the original seven, along with several more.

I can't blame Mattel entirely, I suppose. Robin, Batgirl, and Supergirl are all Jack In The Box premiums. After spending hundreds of dollars at the Heroes Convention in 2001, I bought the entire set of DC Superheroes for a buck each. When I get around to it, I'll eventually install a shelf in another room for a second display, and set up these figures with my Knight Striker Batmobile. I have to do something with them.

Oh, and I added pics of my View Askew characters, some Giants stuff, and a mix of loose STAR WARS figures and collectibles to my collection page today.

Fire Woman

So I added Volcana to my Justice League Unlimited collection over the weekend. I updated the picture on the collection page of my site, which you can see here. I had to move a few characters around and employ the use of an additional riser, where Mr. Freeze, Two-Face, and the Penguin now reside. Still anxiously awaiting the release of Deadshot and Star Sapphire. Please hurry, Mattel.

I haven't added it to my collection page, because it's eventually going in my STAR WARS room (once I have it ready), but I received the Leia & R2-D2 maquette I won over at I have a kind of love/hate relationship going on with this thing. On the one hand, I absolutely love it, because it's a killer sculpt, and I just adore the Genndy Tartakovsky animated style. On the other hand, though, looking at it every day is really making me want to buy the rest of the animated maquettes that I didn't grab as they were being released.
